The current version of the Cisco AnyConnect client available through WebStore (4.8.03052) is officially supported and compatible with Mac OS X versions that support 64-bit applications including Mac OS versions 10.13 (High Sierra), 10.14 (Mojave), and 10.15 (Catalina). As a 64-bit application, with updates for the security changes in Mac OS 10.15, this version should be compatible with future operating systems Apple releases. Mac OS 10.12 users can use version 4.7 if version 4.8 does not work.
- In your Downloads folder, double-click the file you just downloaded to open it. An icon will appear on the desktop called AnyConnect, and a separate window will open. Double-click on AnyConnect.mpkg to run the installer, then follow the steps to complete the installation.

Mac OS versions older than 10.12 are not supported. The AnyConnect software versions needed to use Mac OS 10.8 or earlier have known security issues and are no longer being updated by Cisco.
Additionally, when you connect to campus with the VPN it is the same as if your computer is attached to the wired or WiFi network on campus. The campus acceptable use policy applies to any computer connected to campus, and requires the computer to be running an OS currently supported by the vendor. Apple normally only provides security patches for the three most recent versions of their OS. For example when Mac OS 10.15 came out, Apple stopped patching Mac OS 10.12, and only provides security patches for Mac OS 10.13, 10.14, and 10.15 so no computer with older software should connect to campus via the VPN.

Objective
The objective of this document is to show you the details about the supported operating systems (Windows, Linux, Mac) of the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client and their requirements.
The Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client, also known as the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client, is a software application for connecting to a Virtual Private Network (VPN) that works on various operating systems and hardware configurations. This software application makes it possible for remote resources of another network become accessible as if the user is directly connected to the network, but in a secure way. Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client provides an innovative way to protect mobile users on computer-based or smart-phone platforms, providing a more seamless, always-protected experience for end users, and comprehensive policy enforcement for an IT administrator.
